A well  defined  and  task  oriented program formulation is a very important ingredient for  departmental  development. The department has to be  more responsible & remove intellectual obsolescence for this.  With  this   regard the computer engineering department has established an action plan  which encompasses the overall development of faculty members  and  students to cultivate competing skills. Broadly speaking, the function of  teaching  is  to transmit  knowledge  whereas  research helps to discover  knowledge. If the department has the responsibility of  dispensing knowledge,  it  should  also assume some responsibility of generating knowledge.Teaching  &  Research   are   complementary and  compatibility  should  be established   between  the two. Research  simulates  creative  thinking  in  a teacher.

In this regard we encourage our staff-members to undertake  various software development projects that are utilized for the departmental activities. For example, the  Feedback  software, students attendance software, software for equipment purchase and students admission software for students section of  college  office  are  some  of the projects which are developed under this activity. These projects are being popularly used in the college.
Such research and  development  programs  would flourish  most  successfully when they are  carried  in  an  environment  where academic excellence is truly appreciated. Our department provides this academic setup   that the  research is accepted as a normal part of the education program.

The department has one of the best infrastructure to cater the needs of syllabus and providing the real time experience to the students,We have 08 laboratories, more than 146 latest P4 computers, 11 laptops, 04 LCD projectors and all type of softwares which are needed according to the syllabus. All labs are equipped with the latest printers, scanners, web cameras, speakers etc. We have 03 high end servers to provide the services of Internet, mails and anti virus through out the campus. All the class rooms are equipped with the computer, LCD projectors and PA system. The department has a separate internet center having 30 computers, for all staff and student in the campus, this facility is available since 9 AM to 8 PM. We have a departmental library endowed with the latest technical books, journals and magazines for their ready reference.

The last year result of the department is 97 %, out of which 90 % students have secured distinction and firstclass, which is really remarkable. One of our student Ms. Alpana Dhillon has got place in top 10 students of University of Pune list. Also one of our student Mr. Apurv Pant has been selected for internationally accepted well known competition "Code for Bill" held by Microsoft Corporation. The most interesting part is placement and which is 90 % for the first batch of computer Engg, branch. The major Companies where our students got placement are Microsoft, IBM, Infosys, Google, PSPL, Wipro, Satyam and many more.

One of the major highlights of the department is the relation ship with the industries.We have a tie up for the training of the students and staff with Microsoft, IBM & Oracle corporation. The department helps the students to get their projects sponsored by reputed organizations like CDAC, Satayam, Zensar, PSPL etc. The department undertakes various activities fro the students such as Counseling sessions to identify the non performing students to improve the result and confidence among them. Guest lectures, Industry visits and intercollegiate competitions are organized regularly to improve the soft skills of the students.
