Highlights of first two camps


The first residential camp at Jamgaon was organised from 1st Jan 2009 to 10th Jan 2009. About 50 students participated in the camp. The main objectives of the camp were: Preparation of playground for Primary School, Nirmalgram Abhiyaan and erecting a Solar Lamp (Non conventional source of Energy).

The second residential camp was organised from 29th Dec 2009 to 5th Jan 2010. Its main objectives were: GIS Mapping & Detailed survey of the village, Agricultural Activities like measuring pH of soil & soil testing and Cleaning of Jamgaon. Various lectures were also held during the entire course of the camp. The prominent speakers who visited the camp were: Ms. Pushpatai Nade, renowned Social Worker and Dr. Avinash Wachasunder, a well known ENT Specialist from Pune.

THIRD NSS CAMP:


The third residential camp at Jamgaon, titled as “Tourism through Environment” was held from 3rd Jan 2011 – 10th Jan 2011. It was inaugurated by Prof. S.M. Umrani, Hon’ble President of Samarth Bharat Abhiyaan, VIIT and Prof. (Dr.) A.S. Tavildar, Hon’ble Principal of VIIT. About 70 students participated in this camp. The main objectives of the camp were: Plantation of over 200 plants, laying of roads from village to the Well and Providing Computer Education to over 90 students of 8th and 9th standard. Our day used to begin at 6 in the morning with Jogging, Exercises and Yoga, under the guidance of our Physical Education Director, Prof. Namdev Phatangre and our Counsellor, Mrs. Jyoti Gokhale. Followed by which, students used to do shramdaan. Various lectures were organised for the social awareness of the students. Mr. Shirish Apte delivered a lecture on Personality development through social works. He shared his experiences with us. Mr. A. B. Deshpande, Principal, BMCC delivered a lecture on “Bharat, 1 Rashtra”. He presented a detailed history of our country and at the same time guided the youth about their future responsibilities. Dr. Ashok Patwardhan, renowned Eye Specialist from Pune, provided a free of cost primary eye testing for the residents of Jamgaon and also guided them regarding the basic care of eyes. The evening was yet more delightful as we organised a Granth Dindi in the village. Prof. Avinash Pitale was invited to deliver a spiritual lecture on Pasaydaan by Gyaneshwari. On the next day, Mr. Dnyanesh Purandare, a well know social worker from Sw-roopwardhini organisation delivered lecture on Swami Vivekanand’s Life and Works.
