SPEECH BY HON. SMR.SINDHUTAI SAPKAL:

An inspirational push for the year ahead was organised by NSS,with honourable Smr.Sindhutai Sapkal as the chief guest. The programme was held on 2nd september. It witnessed the presence of about 250 students alongwith teachers.The guest of honour Dr.R.S Acharya,professor Umrani and Professor B.P.Dane were also present.The programme was scheduled for 3.45pm. Sanket Korde(T.E,EnTc) was the anchor for the day who managed to hold the programme together.The programme commenced with the lighting of Diya by the guest of honour and the respected professors.It was followed by Dr.R.S.Acharya briefing about the various activities carried out by the students under NSS.Professor Umrani then through his simple words provided guidance to the students.Chetan Koli(B.E.,Entc) gave a short introduction about the life history of the living legend Smr Sindhutai Sapkal,which was followed by a highly motivational speech by the legend herself. She potrayed the example of simple living and high thinking.She narrated the harsh realities of her life, and urged the students to always work hard, love and respect their parents and learn to forgive.She filled the atmosphere with positive vibes.         Alongwith this distribution of certificates and prizes for the best vounteers of NSS was also carried out.Receiving the prizes from d guest of honour was a moment of pride for all the winners. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Raviraj Shivvchand(B.E, Elex). The programme will forever be registered as a memorable event of NSS.

AWARENESS OF BLOOD DONATION CAMPS IN ENGINEERING COLLEGES:

An awareness programme was held by the NSS committee on the 6th,October 2010.this programme basically targets to spread awareness about the importance of blood donation in engineering colleges where majority of the young mob is present. The guest of honour for the programme is Dr Shegaokar.The programme is conducted by Jankalyan Blood Bank in 3 sessions. The NSS volunteers are looking forward to promote this awareness drive in various engineering colleges in maharashtra.A meeting to talk and discuss about this issue will be held in the college, which will witness the presence of teachers from various engineering colleges.The support of all the members who are a part of this movement and also the ones who have the urge to be a part will surely make this event a grand success.
