ICI STUDENT’S CHAPTER V.I.I.T.

Indian Concrete Institute is one of the leading professional bodies in India. ICI Students’ Chapter V.I.I.T. was established on 9th April, 2014 in Civil Department, catering to the professional needs of individuals and Organizations involved in Concrete. Being a non-profit Organization, it is dedicated to the cause of Disseminating Knowledge on Concrete, to Promote Concrete Technology and Construction and to address the Research Needs of Concrete. ICI admitted V.I.I.T. as an Organizational Life Member from February 2015, OLM No. 10527. ICI works in close coordination with various Central and State Government Bodies like CPWD, PWDs, Municipal Corporation etc., for the adoption of Latest Technologies and practices in Infrastructure Building. ICI members represent in several Codal Committees of BIS. ICI is an active participant in Asian Concrete Federation (ACF), which is a cluster of nine Asian Countries. ICI has collaboration with Singapore, Australia, Korea, American and other countries. The Indian Concrete Institute has professional and student chapters located throughout India. Participation in this chapter can be extremely rewarding in terms of gaining greater technical knowledge and networking with leaders in the concrete community The main objectives of the ICI Student’s chapter are to promote growth of concrete construction. ICI’s local Pune Chapter helps conducting various guest lectures, Site visits and workshops which are beneficial for students. ICI identifies Research and Development problems of practical relevance to concrete construction technology. They also help students to get overall knowledge and some practical knowledge of the subject. If you are a student member of ICI, you become eligible for:

  • Concessional delegation fee for participation in ICI events.
  • Waiver of entrance fee to become permanent member of ICI, after graduation.
  • Access to technical papers of Associated Concrete Institutes.
  • Concessional rates for Publications of ICI.
  • Opportunity to interact with practicing professionals
  • Support in calling professionals in civil engineering for delivering guest lectures on topic of interest.
  • Support to conduct training programmes, workshops, conferences, site visits etc.
  • “ICI-Update” an e-bulletin from ICI to keep abreast of the happenings in the concrete world, which also carries technical articles.
  • Participation in ICI conducted competitions to exhibit talents.
