Manufacturing practical from different Engineering work-trades like Welding, Fitting, Smithy, Plastic Injection Molding, Carpentry, Pattern Making, Machining etc are conducted in this department for the students of various disciplines. All the students of F.E. irrespective of their disciplines and also the students from Mechanical and S.E. onwards perform the practical in this department.

During Workshop Practical students are given enough knowledge about different machines, hand tools, measuring instruments & different processes to shape & size the work piece. The technical staff of workshop is helping the students (All Branches & all Classes) throughout the year besides the academic work with great interest for preparing the working models; supporting devices for different technical & cultural events, project work etc.

The Workshop Provides facilities like machines, tools & guidance to the final year Engineering students in their  project work.

The workshop is located in a separate building adjacent to the Engineering Science building on the  VIIT campus. The central workshop of 900 sqm. carpet area is established  with two different wings , Wing A – F.E. Workshop & Wing B- Machine shop. Wing A has following spacious sections like  - Fitting, Carpentry, Welding, Black Smithy, Plastic Moulding, Plumbing and Tin Smithy. All sections are equipped with quality equipments & have well qualified & Experienced staff to maintain the equipment & impart training to the students.
