ROLE OF NSS ENGINEER IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT

1-Week Workshop ‘Role of NSS Engineer in Rural Development’ was organized at reputed Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust’s Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Kondhwa (Bk), Pune-48 from 9th to 15th July 2018 by Government of Maharashtra, SavitribaiPhule Pune University, National Service Scheme (NSS) and Department of Civil Engineering, VIIT. Coordinator and Conveners of the workshop were Prof. S. P. Nitsure and Prof. R. S. Acharya, Prof. S. G. Joshi. 110 candidates from 63Engineering colleges attended the workshop with full involvement, interaction and enthusiasm.

Renowned scientist Padmavibhushan Dr. Anil Kakodkar inaugurated the workshop with an inspiring speech on various aspects of Rural Development. Concepts related to rural development such as conservation and preservation of water and environment, sustainable agriculture, Cillage, SansadAdarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), and skill development for rural population employment were covered by experts in these fields in an interactive way. From the feedback of the participants, it can be said that the workshop was very successful and useful.
