Message from Dean Quality Assurance

VIIT aims at continuous enhancement and sustenance of quality in technical education. The quality assurance provides confidence to the stakeholders for developing competent graduates in an efficient and effective way. Quality assurance in VIIT has two elements:

  • Internal Quality Assurance
  • Assessment and Accreditation

Internal Quality Assurance:

VIIT obtained ISO 9001 certification in 2006 and got recertified in 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2018. In 2022 Institute is certified with ISO 21001:2018 for educational objective management system. To verify the commitment for quality management system, VIIT conducts internal quality assessment audits in every semester and external surveillance annually.

Assessment and Accreditation:

The accreditation status indicates that the particular institute meets the standards of quality set by the accreditation agency in terms of its performance related to the educational process and outcomes.

VIIT has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) first in 2009, 2011, 2015, 2018. Recently VIIT is been accredited in Tier I (Autonomous Institution) in 2022 for three years. 

VIIT also obtained NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council – an autonomous body established by UGC) accreditation with “A” grade for Six years with effect from September 2016 till 2022. VIIT has applied for the second cycle of accreditation.

VIIT was ranked in NIRF Innovation in band of 51-100.  VIIT has strong connect with connect with Industry and participate in ranking surveys conducted by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII ) . Institute is recipient of Platinum ranking given by AICTE –CII.

Every year VIIT participate in ranking surveys conducted by famous magazines like Outlook iCare, Competition Success Review (GHRDC –CSR) , The Week, Chronicle etc.

In year 2023 , VIIT participated in following ranking and received higher ranks

  1. Data Quest Top T schools – 46th in India
  2. Competition Success Review (CSR)-GHRDC – 13th in India as College of Eminence and 6th in Maharashtra.
  3. The Week- 106th in India ,78th in Top Private Institutes , 13th in West Zone.
  4. Outlook iCare – 52nd in India (Among top 160 Institutions)
  5. Carrier 360 – AAAA grade
  6. Education World – 42nd in India
  7. Times – 116 (Among top 170 colleges)
  8. Chronicle Best Engineering –A+

The Dean Quality Assurance takes the responsibility of developing a system for conscious and consistent improvement in the overall performance of institute. Team Quality Assurance is responsible for development, application and monitoring of quality benchmarks for various academic and administrative activities of the institution. We are also responsible for development and maintenance of institutional data base through ERP for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing the institutional quality.

Functions of IQAC
1 Development and implementation of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
2 Development of Quality Culture in the institution and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
3 Conducting internal Academic as well as Administrative Audits.
4 Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
5 Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
6 Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes.
7 Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement and maintenance of institutional database for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.
8 Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.
