Role Of IQAC

Message from Dean Quality Assurance

VIIT aims at continuous enhancement and sustenance of quality in technical education. The quality assurance provides confidence to the stakeholders for developing competent graduates in an efficient and effective way. Quality assurance in VIIT has two elements:

  • Internal Quality Assurance
  • Assessment and Accreditation

Internal Quality Assurance:

VIIT obtained ISO 9001 certification in 2006 and got recertified in 2009, 2012 and 2015. To verify the commitment for quality management system, VIIT conducts internal quality assessment audits in every semester and external surveillance annually.

Assessment and Accreditation:

The accreditation status indicates that the particular institute meets the standards of quality set by the accreditation agency in terms of its performance related to the educational process and outcomes.

VIIT obtained NBA (National Board of Accreditation – established by AICTE in 1994) accreditation for three years for four UG programs with effect from August 2015. Along-with NBA accreditation, VIIT also obtained NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council – an autonomous body established by UGC) accreditation with “A” grade for five years with effect from September 2016.

In its commitment to ensure quality in all academics and administrative processes, the institute has now got “Autonomous” status from academic year 2017-2018.

The Dean Quality Assurance takes the responsibility of developing a system for conscious and consistent improvement in the overall performance of institute. She/he is responsible for development, application and monitoring of quality benchmarks for various academic and administrative activities of the institution. She/he is also responsible for development and maintenance of institutional data base through MIS for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing the institutional quality.
